A Giclée (zhee-KLAY) fine art print is an archival print made with fade-resistent pigment-based inks. Our prints are made on Somerset Velvet paper which is an archival quality acid-free paper that has weight and texture to it, much like watercolor paper. This gives the prints a special quality—they do not look like photos printed on photo stock. See the detail photos on this page which show the texture and quality of both the paper and the ink. Unlike many icon prints today, ours are purposefully not mounted on wood and are not intended to mimic a wooden panel icon.
Yes, the size listed for each of our prints includes the white border (see the detail photos). Our prints are designed this way to highlight the image and eliminate the need for a mat. The border also allows the beauty of the paper itself to show.
No, the print will arrive unframed. The sizes of our prints are designed to fit easily available standard frame sizes. You can simply insert the print into any frame of your choosing. If you are looking for a simple and affordable frame we recommend "Format" style frames which can be purchased online on Amazon.com, or even more inexpensively in person at Aaron Brothers, Michaels, and other art and frame stores. For instance, an 8 x 10 inch "Format" frame at Aaron Brothers costs just $4 and looks great with our prints (see photo above, click to zoom).
All prints are made and shipped after the order is placed. Your package will come directly from the printer, not the Monastery. Your order will take 1–2 weeks to be printed and delivered. This generous fulfillment time helps keep the cost of the print as low as possible for you.
If you are in a time-sensitive situation then please contact Father Moses using this form and he will see what can be done to meet your needs. Any orders that need expedited shipping will incur a surcharge.
Orders containing both prints and other items will be shipped in multiple packages at different times.
Yes, our printer has wonderful rates and we can offer you free shipping anywhere within the United States (including Alaska and Hawaii) as long as you don't mind waiting a little longer.
