A Brief Explanation of the Paschal Cycle:
The Triodion and Pentecostarion are the books which contain liturgical texts to be used in the services of the Church from before Great Lent until one week after Pentecost. This time period is moveable and determined based on the date of Pascha.
The Triodion starts on the Sunday of the Publican and Pharisee and goes through the end of Holy Week. The Pentecostarion starts on the night of Pascha and goes through the Sunday of All Saints, which is the Sunday after Pentecost.
The two Sundays after All Saints are dedicated to the local saints of each given region and the New Martyrs of the Turkish Yoke, respectively.
